Our Story

The Halliday’s Winery Story

Halliday’s Winery is quickly becoming recognized as the place to go in Northeast Ohio. Overlooking scenic Lake Milton and Olde Dutch Mill Golf Course, Halliday’s Winery offers the best of what Northeast Ohio has to offer: great wine, excellent food, craft beers and a lot of fun.
Halliday’s Winery is named after Jesse Halliday who joins Ron and Mike Birchak as our third proprietor. Born in 1774, Jesse was one of Ohio’s first entrepreneurs — making commercial use of the scenic Mahoning River. He built a river-powered grist mill less than a half mile from the Winery.

Over 200 years later, our proprietors found themselves presented with a wonderful opportunity. Halliday’s Winery showcases the history, stories and faces of the area along with Northest Ohio’s passion for quality wine, beer and food. Halliday’s Winery is a testimonial to the wonderful history of the Mahoning River Valley.

Each of Halliday’s signature wines has been given a name that connects with the history of the area, or our proprietors’ family. Ask us about them. We’d be happy to tell you our stories and hear some of yours…

Enjoy a few words from one of our proprietors, Ron Birchak…
